BSC provides your employees with quality counselling services. Unlike some other programs across Canada, our services are specifically tailored to the needs and realities of residents living and working in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario. That means:

Our EFAP Services Include:

Management Consultation Services

BSC’s professional and knowledge EFAP counsellors are available to provide services relevant to challenges managers experience related to issues such as workplace conflict, team functioning and performance management issues.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Other Diffusing/Support Services

Since 1987, BSC has provided timely on-site response to a large number of critical incidents in a variety of work settings including schools, hospitals, and industries throughout the region.

All members of our counselling team have undergone specific training in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) techniques. Our counsellors have also received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for individual treatment of post-traumatic stress.

BSC also provides after hours support to Employers related to Critical Incidents. Critical Incident after-hours calls are received by Nurses Registry and referred to our on-call team. Calls are generally returned within minutes of receipt of the message.

BSC maintains a toll-free number (1-888-423-5862) to ensure easy access for booking an appointment with EFAP for clients who do not live within the City of Thunder Bay calling area. 

Workshops and Seminars

BSC’s team of counsellors can develop new or adapt existing group workshops tailored to employer/employee needs, upon request. These customized workshops can address specific issues that currently affect your workplace and help resolve them. 

Ethics

BSC counsellors operate under multiple layers of ethics and conduct regulations. As a department of SJCG, all employees of BSC are required to fully subscribe to and follow the SJCG Principles of Conduct.
